Connecting without language

During the weekends when I was at SNUE, I visited with my foster mother, who knows hardly any English. She took me out to eat and we went shopping together. This was very difficult to communicate what I wanted to eat or buy and I was using a lot of different translator apps. Sometimes, she would ask me a question about my family and I wouldn’t understand even when she would try to say it slowly or explain it to me, so then she would just say never mind using hand motions. I really enjoyed all the times meeting with her; I just wish I knew the language more.

Final reflection

I don't even know where to begin as a final reflection. This trip made me realize just how much I would like to live and work in Korea....
