My name is Maddy Pagels. I am a graduate student working on completing my Master of Education degree at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I was adopted from Korea when I was 7 months old and have been back around 7 times, all for vacations. I am really interested to take college classes and learn about the education system in Korea. This will be the first time I am traveling without a family member and I am excited to see what kind of adventures I will have. | Hello, my name is Phoua Chang and I am an upcoming sophomore. My intending major is Psychology with a minor in Asian Languages and Literature. I applied to this program because I wanted to have a feel of what it is actually like in South Korea before I go in the future. Having been exposed to the Korean language and dramas, I hope to have a feel of their culture in person on this trip and meet new people. | I’m Lucky Aden, a senior majoring in sociology and minor in public health . My ultimate goal is to get a masters with a focus on humanitarianism and public policy so I can work for United Nations one day. I love to traveling, photography, and meeting new people . I have known about Korea since I was introduced by friend in 2008. I find the culture , entertainment and language so fascinating. Hello everyone! My name is Salma Ibrahim and senior studying sociology with an emphasis on Pre Law. I was born in Mombasa, Kenya but left when I was a baby. I enjoy traveling, going to coffee shops, journaling, reading, activism and social justice. I'm excited about going to South Korea and chance to immerse myself in the local history, culture, politics, and everything in between. 여러분 안녕하세요! My name is Gaoly but friends call me Areum. I am going to be a junior this fall at University of Minnesota-Duluth. I am a psychology major with a minor in International Studies. In my free time I like to learn dance covers, singing, reading, and photography. In Duluth, I also enjoy going hiking and sight-seeing. I’m very excited to be going to South Korea and hoping I will grow as a person from this experience. | My name is See Chang. I'm a Junior majoring in Early Childhood Education. I want to teach kindergartner through six grade. I believe in the process of constantly learning new things. Outside of school my hobbies are running around the lake during the summer. I like to take long naps when I can. I like to read, it’s like a form of meditation which helps me in obtaining a better concentration. I really enjoy hanging out with friends in person rather than texting, or talking on the phone. |
