Korea is a wonderful place. Overall, I feel much safer here than I do in some places in America. It's very much a homogenous society, so it's interesting to see how Koreans interact with foreigners. I'll reflect more on that in another blog post.In the classroom, the cultural differences are overwhelming. When a Korean teacher walks in, the students bow and greet them. They refuse to sit down till they do, they refuse to eat unless the elder or guest has eaten first. They have a tremendous amount of respect and it shows in the way that they speak and interact with the elders and teachers in their community.
