From goal to reality...

I am feeling very excited as this is a trip I have been looking forward to in a long time, but being nervous and scared also comes along with it, though it’s the good kind. I am feeling prepared with all of the pre-departure planning, making an itinerary, having all the addresses I need, and asking as many questions as I could, but not knowing what’s going to happen makes me uneasy. I also overthink a lot so that doesn’t add well onto my worries.

There are many things to look forward to with this trip since I have tried my best to make a busy and packed 3 weeks. Just to name a few: wearing traditional Korean clothing for women called hanboks, strolling in the many palaces in Seoul, eating delicious food at a traditional market, tasting soju and makgeolli for the first time, learning taekwondo at Seoul National University of Education (SNUE), spending a night at a spa, and visiting Busan for a weekend. There are so many more things to do while on South Korea! I’m also looking forward to meeting many people during this trip whether it’s the students who are all going or SNUE students. Visiting South Korea has been a goal for me and now it is finally happening. Overall, it still feels surreal that I made this goal become a reality. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for me with these next three weeks!
