No Control

The readings we had read before arrival really opened my eyes about how different education is around the world. From my perspective, South Korea’s education system is unbelievably intense. The way students are graded and tested for their understanding of each topic is different for each grade level, but overall requires a lot of work. It requires many hours of self-studying, hagwons, and late nights.

After hearing from many students and professors on their perspective on the education system, I have learned that I am not the only one who think South Korea’s education is tough. Although many of them do not want their child to go through this system, they have no control over the system therefore they must find ways for their students to achieve.
