My trip in South Korea has been a wonderful learning experience and extremely memorable. Going to South Korea was quite the culture shock. We have many differences in our cultures with interactions between people, the language (formal and informal), and our education systems. The most memorable learning I've had is the differences in our education systems. We are often critical of our own systems and look to others to see how to improve. Looking at South Korea's education system, I see many things I would like to implement in the US but I do see a lot of strengths in our educational system as well (teacher training, large vs. local government, hours of time in the classroom, Hagwons, etc.). I'm excited to bring back knowledge of their system to share with others and to continue to critically think about our education.
