Jeju island has a much more traditional culture, compared to Seoul and America. Exploring around Jeju feels as though I am moving back in time. The time when life was all about the ocean, about nature, and about farming. There were no factories, no buildings that were only dependent on technology. Jeju uses its surrounding resources and embraces the natural lands by maintaining the caves, mountains, forests, and environment. When we visited the folk village, I fell in love right away with the houses there. The reason why is because I loved how the people of Jeju continued the existence of the traditional houses. It felt as though history came to life instead of being stuck as only a memory.
