Today, heading to Bukchon Hanok Village was stressful. Only after hiking up steep hills, did we realize that we were lost. When getting lost continued after a few blocks, we resorted to asking for directions from a Korean man. When we asked for help in Korean, we noticed that he responded in Korean. Having witnessed this before, I assume that it is not unusual in South Korea to have foreigners speaking their language to perfection. I have seen many foreigners during our stay, and most of them know the language well. It is amazing to know that many who come to South Korea learn such a big aspect of their culture.
