Between my readings and the content of the lectures during this first week, I am trying to gather further information to understand more by connecting what I have read along with the additional information that was given from the previous instructors’ lectures about the current South Korean education. For example, South Korean students do have to endure a lot of pressure in studying due to different factors that motivate them to study harder in order to achieve their academic goals; the most surprising, key factor weights on these students’ shoulders is how they actually believe that they are responsible to study hard and get into top universities so that later they can get good jobs and earn good money to financially help their family back.
