After spending about a week in Seoul so far, I've learned that many things that were stated in the readings were in fact reality for South Korean students. In the group discussion with the SNUE students, I learned that students really did study for 12 hours on average a day whether they liked to or not. The classes have been especially helpful at helping us understand the importance of the entrance exam day and how companies start an hour late just to give students enough time to go to the exam site. My greatest surprise was when a SNUE student talked about how schools had a waitlist for North Korean students who wish to study in the South. If you have any question, ask me about this.
