Quiet subway, missing trash cans

My first impressions of Seoul have all been great! The people here are very friendly when you ask for help or look like you are having a hard time. On the subway, people keep to themselves and almost everyone is looking at their smartphone. People, even kids, talk quietly to each other in conversations which makes most atmospheres pleasant. One thing I did notice that is different from the US that is inconvenient is the lack of trash cans and recycling available in public places (first world problems). It has made me more conscious of what I bring with me and reusing plastic bottles more often.
