Traveler, not a tourist

I’m super excited to go to South Korea. I’ve never been out of the country before and this will be my first time. I usually get motion sickness, and I’m nervous about feeling nausea on the plane ride there. However, I am going to prepare myself. I don’t have any expectations; I really want to go in with an open mind and absorb the experience as it is. I don’t want the Korean dramas, media outlets, and video that I’ve watched to influence how see South Korea. There is a quote that goes “Please be a traveler, not a tourist. Try new things, meet new people and look beyond what’s right in front of you. Those are the keys to understand this amazing world we live in.” by Andrew Zimmern. I’ll keep in mind this quote while I am in Korea. I think that this will be a challenge for me to immerse myself to see in a different lens.
