I have touched on this in my first cultural blog post but I am still incredibly amazed by how nice all the people I have met have been to me. These two ladies took me to Dongdaemun! We first stopped by the LED Rose Garden and took a look at the artistic buildings in that area. After that we went to get food. This was where I realized the depth and weight of their kindness. The first part was that they always offered to pay. Every native Korean person that I have met and have gone to dinner have strongly insisted each time to pay for me. They say that since I am a visitor it is their responsibility as hosts. The second was when we found a couple hairs in the Korean pancake we had ordered. To me it was not a big deal, just make the restaurant cook a new one. However they were super embarrassed. They said that it was very bad especially since I am a visitor. They talked to the manager, got our meals comped, and we actually left to go to a different restaurant.
